Aim

The aim of this production is to make people laugh and entertain a large teenage audience. We were given a brief to create a talk show about teenagers including light entertainment throughout. To make it interesting, we have chosen to do it as a range of sketches featuring spoof celebrities. It will be broken into two sections and we are hoping that it will be light entertainment for a wide audience. We aim for the show to be popular with our audience and we also want it to improve our skills in multi-camera production.

Production Details

We are creating a comical chat show to appeal to the audience of 13 – 25 year olds. The show will begin with light entertainment, showing the cast and crew preparing for the talk show. The cast will be actors impersonating celebrities and chat show hosts, so each celebrity will be portrayed very dramatically and over the top. The show will be multi-camera, one camera on the host, one on the celebrities, and the other will be a wide shot. We intend to interview two celebrities at a time to see their personalities clash. Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars) and Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games) will be interviewed together and Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj will be interviewed together.

The show will begin by following the celebrities around the studio. They will all be very demanding and ordering everything from all the crew (makeup, refreshments, ect). The host will be presenting the beginning monologue, where we see everything going wrong in the background. The intern is very OCD and has to get everything perfect. The cameras are recording and nobody realises. Each character has their own problem to overcome. The intern has to finish tonnes of work and we see his socially awkward, gullible personality throughout when the director and other characters tell him to get a chroma key and a long wait. The crazy fan finds a way into the studio and hides behind the green screen curtain, the agent is always shouting down the phone harassing the intern for them to get different things for each celebrity. The make up artist is a perfectionist and is slightly crazy doing very bad make up on the celebrities. The director is also very angry and shouts at everyone.
